Cape Point and Peninsula Tour

Cape Town

Activity Description

Where do the two oceans meet? And why is it called “the Cape of Good Hope”? Join us on a journey of discovery as we explore the splendour of the Cape Peninsula in Cape Town. We follow the Atlantic Seaboard, past Clifton & Camps Bay, to the fishing hamlet of Hout Bay for an optional boat cruise to Duiker Island to experience thousands of Cape Fur Seals in their natural habitat (own account). We continue along the scenic Chapman’s Peak Drive to Simon’s Town to meet up with a colony of rare Jackass Penguins at Boulders Beach. You would’ve noticed the bicycles behind the bus by now! we swap four wheels for two to get some fresh air into our lungs and to build up a healthy appetite.

Our legendary scrumptious picnic lunch will then be served somewhere in the reserve… maybe at one of the stunning beaches! Are you brave enough to challenge the Atlantic?
After lunch we hike to the top lighthouse at Cape Point and then to the Cape of Good Hope. Both hikes offer breathtaking vistas and REAL fresh air! We return home via Scarborough and Kommetjie.

Customer Reviews

Very good experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Saw a lot in a short time and the bike ride made to hat much more interesting. - JUDITH HARRISON

This was a great day out. Enjoyed it very much. Thank you - Sarah McGarrol

The trip to Cape Point was the highlight of my visit to SA. The guide was very educational, gave the profound insight into the country's history and culture. The stops in Hout Bay and a few more on the way were just great. The higlight were cycling through Cape Point natural reserve, climbing to the Lighthouse and of course, a walk to the Cape of Good Hope and of course, Boulder's Beach with all those beautiful penguins. The travel was cozy and pleasant. I would recommend this tour especially to ones who like history. Thank you! - Suzana Oroz

It was a last minute booking and Day Trippers (hat tip to Shelley) were fantastic at fitting me in. The highlight of the tour was our guide Pedro whose enthusiasm, energy and knowledge on a variety of different topics pertaining to the area is unmatched. He also cares deeply about social issues and gave us an insight into the problems that Cape Town faces. The pick up and drop off from my B&B was on time, the bikes in good condition, the picnic lunch perfectly adequate and Pedro even allowed us extra time on the bikes as requested. I would highly recommend the Day Trippers Cape Point and Peninsula Tour and in particular the tour guide Pedro ! - Vinny Menon

Great day out, and Pedro the guide was awesome. There’s a lot to get through in a day so it felt a little rushed, but in no way spoiled the day. It was quite physical so make sure you’re in good shape! - Stuart Downey
